1. Major Intakes & Application Timeline
New Zealand offers two main intakes:
- February Intake (Semester 1): Largest intake; majority of courses available
- July Intake (Semester 2): Mid-year; fewer programs but growing in popularity
- Some institutions offer rolling intakes or short courses in November or March
Application timeline:
- Start research & shortlist unis: 8–12 months before intake
- Apply to universities: 6–9 months before intake
- Accept offer & apply for visa: 3–5 months before intake
- Arrange accommodation, insurance, and flight: 2–3 months before travel

2. English Language Requirements (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL)
Most New Zealand universities accept multiple English proficiency tests.

3. Academic Entry Requirements
Requirements vary by course, but here are general expectations:
Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree):
- Year 12 or equivalent (CBSE/ISC/HSC, A-Levels, WAEC, etc.)
- Minimum 60–75% or GPA 2.5–3.0 depending on program
- IELTS or equivalent English score
Postgraduate (Master’s Degree):
- Recognized bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Min 55–70% depending on program/university
- May require 1–2 years of work experience (especially for MBA)
- Statement of Purpose (SOP), references, and CV required
4. Documents Required for Admission
- Valid passport
- Academic transcripts (10th, 12th, bachelor’s, etc.)
- Degree certificates
- English proficiency test results
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Letters of Recommendation (LORs) – usually 2
- Updated CV/resume (PG only)
- Work experience letters (if applicable)
Some universities also require portfolio (for design/arts) or video interviews.
5. Entrance Exams & Subject-Specific Requirements
- No GRE or GMAT is typically required for most NZ universities
- MBA or Management programs may prefer GMAT (recommended if score > 550)
- Certain health or engineering programs may have prerequisites or interviews

6. Pre-Departure Checklist for Students
